OUR HISTORY

The Tiger Inn, a charming 19th-century pub, is nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Coneythorpe, North Yorkshire. Just a stone’s throw from Knaresborough and within easy reach of Harrogate and York, the inn is perfectly located for travellers and locals alike. Conveniently, it is the first pub off the A1(M) at Junction 47, making it an ideal stop for visitors.

The village of Coneythorpe has historical roots, with its name deriving from 'the King’s thorp', indicating a Danish settlement. The Tiger Inn holds a prominent position, overlooking the village green and historic village pump. Its traditional two-storey structure, featuring end gable chimney stacks and a slate roof, has been adapted over the years to meet patrons' needs while maintaining its charm.

In 2024, after sitting empty for over a year, The Tiger Inn began a new chapter under Mark and Clare Oglesby, owners of nearby Goldsborough Hall. They have revitalised this local landmark, welcoming families, walkers (& dogs!) and cyclists with the inn's values of 'proper food, proper beer at a proper price'. This commitment ensures that The Tiger Inn remains a warm and welcoming hub for the community and visitors alike.
